New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern provides us with an impressive example and exemplifies a modern, co-operative style of leadership. Compassion and empathy as a leadership principle<\/strong> Ardern's response to the tragedy in Christchurch shows how compassion and empathy can become central pillars of effective leadership. She emphasised the power of compassion that goes beyond mere words by showing deep understanding and solidarity with those affected. Compassion - not to be confused with \"pity\", and empathy are important cornerstones of emotional intelligence (EQ). Managers and entrepreneurs can learn from this: genuine compassion and empathy are not just negligible soft factors, but crucial building blocks for authenticity, leadership charisma and the ability to build trust in and inspire teams.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>
        1. Promoting cohesion<\/strong> The Prime Minister demonstrated how important it is to unite the community. For start-up teams, this means that cohesion and a strong corporate culture are crucial for success.<\/li><\/ol>

          Her leadership style and her handling of crises and challenges serve as a model of how emotional intelligence, reflection and empathy can be integrated into day-to-day management.<\/p>
